The Public Employment Service (DYPA),  in order to address a series of challenges in the labor market, such as unemployment, underemployment and inequality, has announced a series of programs that will begin in 2024, which aim to

  • in creating new jobs
  • to promote the employment of vulnerable groups and
  • in supporting entrepreneurship by subsidizing new businesses

Programs aimed at businesses for the recruitment of unemployed people aged 30 and over

Employment subsidy program for 34,000 unemployed people aged 30 and over, with an emphasis on women and people over 50, with a budget of 282 million euros.

  • It is aimed at entrepreneurs across the country.
  • Hiring unemployed people aged 30 and over with priority given to hiring women and unemployed people over 50 years old.
  • Subsidy of up to 870 euros per month.
  • Program duration: 12 months.

A program to acquire professional experience for 30,000 unemployed people aged 30 and over, with a budget of 300 million euros.

It is aimed at entrepreneurs across the country for the recruitment of unemployed people over 30 years of age. The action is implemented in two stages:

  • A. Consulting and Gaining Professional Experience.
  • Daily allowance: 31 euros for six hours and up to 22 days per month.
  • Includes insurance costs (medical and pharmaceutical coverage 6.45%, professional risk 1%).
  • B. Business grant for hiring a beneficiary for 6 months.
  • Subsidy for hiring an unemployed person: up to 870 euros.

Program for the integration and reintegration into the labor market of 4,000 unemployed people aged 30 and over, who belong to vulnerable or vulnerable social groups, with a budget of 50 million Euros.

  • Beneficiaries must belong to vulnerable or vulnerable social groups.
  • Comprehensive support for reintegration is provided, including intensive counseling, job support, and private business grants.
  • The aim is to create new jobs for the beneficiaries.
  • The subsidy for hiring beneficiaries: up to 928 euros per month.

Program aimed at unemployed people aged 30 – 54 years for the creation of new businesses

Entrepreneurship support program for 6,000 beneficiaries, aged 30-54, with an emphasis on women, with a budget of 95.5 million Euros.

  • Objective: Promoting self-employment and creating new businesses for unemployed people aged 30-54.
  • Emphasis on strengthening the entrepreneurship of unemployed women.
  • Evaluation of funding applications in a comparative manner.
  • Grant for business creation: 14,800 euros, possibly an increase in amount.
  • Duration of action: 12 months.
  • Announcement of positions gradually depending on the number of applications.

  • Action for subsidized businesses created through the Young Freelancers Program-NEE

  • Beneficiaries: Businesses must demonstrate a need for additional financing with documentation through a business plan
  • Maximum grant duration: 3 years
  • Grant amount: 5,000 to 10,000 euros

Programs aimed at young unemployed people aged 18-29

Professional experience acquisition program for 25,000 young unemployed people aged 18-29, budget 200 million Euros.

  • Goal: Integration into the labor market for 25,000 young people aged 18 – 29.
  • Unemployed criteria:
  • Graduates of at least compulsory education Less than 300 days of insurance, until placement with the provider/company
  • Addressed to
    1. Private enterprises, Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) bodies, in
    2. businesses, bodies and public sector organizations
      • Program Duration: 7 months full-time
      • Salary from DYPA: Participants receive minimum wage and additionally a proportion of gifts and leave allowance

Employment program for the integration into the labor market of 6,000 unemployed people aged 18-29, budget 56 million euros.

  • Unemployed people aged: 18-29
  • Program duration: 12 months
  • Subsidy per position: 696 euros per month

Youth entrepreneurship support program for 3,000 unemployed people aged 18-29, budget 44 million euros.

  • Objective: Promoting self-employment and the creation of new businesses, with an emphasis on unemployed women.
  • Grant: 14,800 euros per participant, with the prospect of an increase.
  • Implementation gradually until the budget is exhausted.
  • Program duration: 12 months.
