Free Workshop – Discover your Values
The Phenomenal Female Circle, within the framework of the Lean in Girls Leadership Program of Lean In Network Greece (Athens), is organizing the workshop ” Discover Your Values” on January 10, 2024 at the Free Thinking Zone Bookstore (Skoufa 64 & Grivaion 1) .
The Workshop is aimed at parents and guardians of adolescents aged 12 to 17 years.
In the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn about ways that will lead adolescents to better understand themselves and develop their leadership skills.
Lean in Girls Leadership Program
Lean In Girls ( https://www.leaningirls.org ) is a leadership program that helps girls see themselves as leaders in a world that often tells them they are not. Today more than ever it is important to empower our girls.
Within the framework of the program, the Lean In Girls Leadership Program seeks to equip girls to become confident, resilient and inclusive leaders and to lead with boldness.
Additionally, the program aims to eliminate the barriers that make it difficult for girls to achieve and encourage them to lead on their own terms.
The concept of leadership
The traditional definition of the concept of leadership assumes that leadership exists only in an established context of knowledge and authority – when someone is an expert on a subject or manages groups and has authority.
However, according to the Lean In organization, anyone can be a leader, and there are many ways to lead. We can lead through big, bold actions, but also through small, everyday things we do. We lead when we speak our mind, work toward a common goal, respect and include those around us, encourage, inspire others, or create something new, either alone or as part of a team. Whatever our approach, as leaders we act on our values, even when it takes courage.
Leadership is based on values
Understanding personal values is vital to developing effective leadership.
Personal values play a vital role in leadership, as they help us make responsible decisions, manage challenges effectively, and inspire others to follow our vision. When our values are clearly defined and guide us, we have greater confidence and perseverance, which makes us more effective leaders.
Participation in the Workshop
In the workshop, participants, parents and guardians of adolescents will learn how to guide them to:
- Discover their personal values
- They learn how their values influence their decisions and behaviors
- Develop leadership skills based on their values
